I was surprised to find that EVERY 2 SECONDS a phone shatters. And that's only in the USA. When I first invented EVERGRIP 5 years ago I just wanted a strap that made the phone easier to use with one hand. It seemed like an oversight that no one had put the time into designing a great phone grip when it could be the highest value accessory for the most important product in your life. I quickly found that the advantages of a comfortable strap attached to your phone were numerous. I could take a video while riding my longboard, type faster, watch youtube videos for hours without hand cramps and most importantly never drop my phone with an instantaneous secure grip.

Impact of E-Waste

E-waste which is made up of everything from old phones to laptops is responsible for huge amounts of heavy metals leaking from landfills and contaminating aquifers.

Impact on a Person

It costs as much as $329 to replace a phone screen. A broken or dropped phone is one of the worst feelings. They have become the most important product in almost everyone's life in just a few years and being without it for a couple days is a huge disruption to life.

Why Ease of Use is the most important aspect

We touch our phones a thousand times a day and use it an average of 200+ times a days. It is most important to not drop your phone so having a secure grip that is near effortless and instantaneous to access is critical.

I'll be honest, I didn't set out with the goal of creating the most environmentally conscious phone grip company. I actually intended to just create "the best" phone grip with a focus on design and quality materials. In any good design process, you look at the total impact and we realized that the durable metal base being reusable was an important quality. On top of that, we learned that dropped phones are one of the biggest causes of "electronic waste".

So our mission evolved from making your phone more usable to preventing plastic and unnecessary e-waste creation from dropped phones. It turns out this is a HUGE problem. Just in the USA $3.4 Billion is wasted on dropped and broken phones EVERY YEAR. The environmental impacts of that continue long after you experience the pain of hearing your screen shatter on the pavement. 

It's kind of our mission to help you get better videos while mountain biking or snap that saucy selfie over the grand canyon but first and foremost we want to help create a future earth that's healthy for all people!
